2026 Music Captain Recruitment Process
In Week 1 of Term 4, we will be opening nominations for the school leadership role of Music Captain. If your child is currently in Year 5 and a member of one of the following musical ensembles: Choir, String Orchestra, Concert Band; and regularly participates, then they are eligible to apply.
We are seeking students who are committed to sustaining their efforts in the following areas:
- Following school expectations and having a positive attitude to learning
- Commitment to regular practice of their instrument/voice.
- Being punctual and committed to regular attendance to all practices and performances at school and public events.
- Assisting with set up and pack up of equipment for rehearsals and events.
- Public speaking and introducing musical items at special events.

Weeks 1 and 2 |
Students to collect an application form from their choral/instrumental music teacher at their rehearsal. Students must complete and return this application to their music teacher by Friday 17th October |
Week 3 |
Applications/nominations will be reviewed |
Week 4 |
Applicants give short speech to their music group outlining · Experience (how long have they been singing/playing instrument · Commitment to rehearsals/practice · Why they would like to be Music captain · Personal qualities/new ideas they can bring to the role

Rehearsal Reminder Week 1 Term 4
Due to the public holiday on Monday 6th October, Junior choir will resume rehearsals on Monday 13th October at 8:00am in the music room. Senior Choir will commence on Friday 10th October at 8:00am in the music room. All other ensembles will resume rehearsals on their usual days/times in Week 1 of Term 4.
