A WORD FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Everyone
As we reach the end of another successful term, it’s important to acknowledge the hard work and dedication our students have shown throughout the past weeks. They have worked diligently to achieve their personal best, and it’s clear that their efforts have paid off. The support they receive through the curriculum, from both teachers and support staff, has played a pivotal role in helping our students reach their goals. As I walk through classrooms and the work shown to me, I continue to be impressed with the effort that all students put into their work - I have run out of stickers to hand out!
This term, our student leaders have been actively involved in gathering valuable feedback from their peers regarding the design of the new playground. After engaging with the student councillors, they presented the collected ideas to me via PowerPoint. I’m excited to see how these suggestions will contribute to making our school environment even better for all students – providing a play space for our older students to enjoy.
Our Prep - Year 2 students and families enjoyed the annual Easter Bonnet Parade – all students made beautiful bonnets to wear and all of our families were able to demonstrate an excellent rendition of ‘The Chicken Dance.’ I would like to thank all of our parent body and community for your ongoing support of all of our students and staff at Freshwater State School.
Looking ahead, Week 1 of Term 2 will be a short week, with school resuming for just three days. Please note that ANZAC Day will be commemorated on Thursday, April 24th.
As we look forward to the upcoming holiday, we hope that everyone enjoys a well-earned break and has the opportunity to celebrate Easter with family and friends.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break, and we look forward to welcoming you back in Term 2!
Yours in Learning,
